This breed I got from a very well known breeder in Germany in September 2006, and I’m very pleased. They have a very pleasant and friendly character. The cocks like it to be picketed up from the ground, and they start dancing if they have been set down again. But the main feature of them is their gameness! It’s well known even over the borders of Iran that these birds never turn back. They rather die then give up a fight.
The offspring is very easy to raise up. They are not sensitive against the weather and standard food is doing them well. The hens are very good mothers and keep their chicks away from any danger. The Lari need their time till they reach adult age. This begins normally at an age of 10-12 month.
They are typical aseel in their basic instincts. It’s no problem to let them run in a flock Until they reach adult age. Then it’s time to separate them immediatly. Crosses are much different and unpredictable, In attitude and character, they start to fight in very earlier ages.
My pure breed Lari reach an adult weight between 8-10lbs.In their homeland are they used for natural spur fighting and sharp natural spur fighting. A special feature is that the hens are fighting very hard for their position in the flock. These fights last over an hour, and the hens often need medical care. I try to let the stocks together as good as I can, to avoid such hard fights.
